The east coast of Antigua is subject to a prevailing onshore trade wind which together with the Atlantic rollers create the right conditions for board surfing and wind surfing. There is little kite surfing in Antigua. Half Moon Bay has ideal conditions for top class wind surfing but the best location is Dutchman’s Bay. Galley Bay is good for board surfing. There are many water sports centres around Antigua where boards can be hired and instruction given.
