Hostels in Austria are reviewed as having a high standard of facilities and accommodation. You can find one wherever you are; there are lots in the cities, but you will also find independently owned hostels in the popular ski resorts as well. An inner city hostel, or one in a resort, will cost you around 15-17 Euros for a mixed dorm and will usually include an all you can eat breakfast buffet - make sure this is included in the price before booking. A twin private ensuite will cost you more in the range of 25 Euros, but the facilities are generally as high as a 3* hotel. Reading a review on a particular hostel beforehand is a good idea, as this type of accommodation is famous for being 'hit and miss', but Austrian hostels are generally of a good standard.
