Sailing and yachting are extremely popular in the Bahamas, especially around the Abaco Islands, home to many cays and the Treasure Cay Hotel Resort & Marina. Treasure Cay Harbour hosts the annual All Abaco Sailing Regatta in late September. Similar regattas in the Bahamas include the Long Island Regatta in Salt Pond, which takes place in late May, and the New Year's Day Sailing Regatta at Nassau and Paradise Island. Many sailors like to traverse the many islands of the Bahamas and make their way to or from other Caribbean spots as well as Florida.
