Crop Over is one of Barbados’ most anticipated and well attended festivals of the year. It celebrates the end of the year’s sugar cane season and is a party period consisting of numerous events over the period of July and August culminating in a huge dancing procession in August called the Grand Kadooment. This is a parade featuring large bands with members dressed in elaborate costumes to depict various themes. There’s plenty of music, dance and rum during this festival period and the island comes alive with vibrancy and celebration.
