Though most shops in the British Virgin Islands accept major credit cards the choice of things to by is limited. There are no malls and few shops selling designer clothes or electrical equipment. These that do are expensive. The most interesting shops are those that sell locally made goods such as jewellery, crafts and carved wooden ornaments. Spices and rum can also be found in abundance for a good price.
