When deciding which company to book with, it is not worth choosing on price alone. The Great Barrier Reef is a long way off shore, and therefore it is advisable for visitors to check carefully what is on offer — large vessels (such as those operated by Great Adventures and Quicksilver) carry 300-400 passengers on each run, so these trips are more noisy and crowded during the peak season.
