National Armed Forces Day

National armed forces day is a traditional celebration of Egyptian nationalism and pride following the liberation from the British when Egyptian forces marched across the Suez Canal to reclaim Sinai from Israel. The day is a simultaneous observation to remember President Anwar Sadat who was assassinated in 1981 whilst watching the Armed Forces Parade.
