From January to December

There is no better way to explore the crystal clear seas of the Canary Islands than with a mask and a pair of flippers. Due to the cold and open currents that run through the Canary Islands, you are likely to come across a wide variety of sea creatures on your snorkelling expeditions (this depends of course on how far you snorkel away from the coast). You may see pilot whales between the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera but you can swim around them without fear. Sperm whales can also be found in the eastern islands. Each of the Canary Islands offers a different variation on sea life, so they are all worth visiting if you are enthusiastic about snorkelling. Depending on the part of the islands you swim, the current can be fatal or nonexistent, so it is best to find out the possible dangers in advance.
