Despite not being biggest city in Australia, there is something to suit most gay and lesbian holidaymakers looking to come to Canberra - breathtaking natural attractions, a host of gay and lesbian accommodation as well as some decent clubs and bars. Roughly 1km from the city centre, MacGregor is best for accommodation. The clubs, bars and restaurants of London Circuit, East Row and Alinga St are the few destinations for gay and lesbian nightlife - although there are also some several excellent nightspots in Garema Place. Canberra does not have a palpable or major gay community, but there is a significant amount for gay and lesbian holidaymakers on a short-term break - although Sydney and Brisbane offer more options to cater for gay couples on a longer holiday.
