Casablanca is renowned for its culture and spectacular architecture. Casablanca is interesting for the large presence of art nouveau and art deco constructions which influenced most private buildings built during the first colonial years. The most fascinating monument and one of the most visited in the city is certainly the Hassan II mosque, one of the largest religious buildings in the world which stands next to the Atlantic Ocean, and offers 1 hour guided tours due to its vast size. For those looking to tour museums, this is one of Casablanca’s shortfalls as there is only one, but the Jewish Museum, the only one of its kind in a Muslim country is fascinating and well worth the visit.
