White Water Rafting in Colombia

For whitewater rafting in Colombia head to San Gil, the extreme sport capital of Colombia, where you can white-water raft on one of three rivers, the Fonce (Grade2-3), the Suarez (Grade 4 ) and the Chicamocha (Grade 4). For someone looking for a class III river good for beginners, there is the Rio Negro not far outside of Bogotá. For a slightly different rafting experience, you can float on a balsa wood raft through Colombia's coffee-growing region on the La Vieja River.
