This is a lovely Corfiot festival and if you happen to be on the island in August you may just get to join in. Corfu Town is once again party-central and you can see the boats being decorated with lights and then sailed across the beautiful Garitsa Bay.

A highly traditional festival, you will hear choirs singing cantades (traditional songs) and keep a lookout for dancers performing folk dances in cultural costumes. There are also fireworks that take place all over the island in honour of this festival.
