Many of the beaches in Crete have water sport activities such, water skiing, paragliding windsurfing and fun boats. Jet-skis are not so common. The Mediterranean is calm and warm and as the ripples of waves are relatively flat it is possible to pick up speed before crashing off the break of a bigger wave. Water skiing costs around £18 for 10 minutes whilst the banana boat and rubber rings are £9 for 10 minutes. Life jackets or wetsuits are provided for all water sport activities in Crete, but you should wear a swimming costume underneath and be prepared to get wet.
