European Dance Festival

The European Dance Festival in Cyprus is no ordinary event. For two months, other European countries send teams to compete with the Cypriot dance troupes to perform contemporary dance traditions from their country. Each company is required to include something special such as innovative and original choreography or imaginative stage set. The festival inspires dance companies to create postmodern performances rooted in tradition and influences range from Urban classicism to body popping, hip-hop to classical dance.
