A foodies paradise, Delhi offers a wide range of cuisines and is one of the top ten food destinations to be in. Food in Delhi is diverse and apart from the extensive local fare, you have the option of Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Moroccan, Lebanese, Japanese and Russian food, authentically prepared, and often made to order. Connaught Place is the restaurant hub of the city, but every major locality has its own food haven. The local people love eating out, and on weekends it’s difficult to get a look in to an eatery anywhere. Most restaurants offer alcohol as well so if you are in the mood for a drink before you tuck into your yummy meal, you need not go looking for a bar in particular. The street food in Delhi is famous and if you are willing to eat out in the open, on sidewalks, and standing, then street food is a good bet. Try and avoid anything uncooked. Keep in mind while eating food in Delhi to carry your own bottled water at all times.
Most five star hotels in Delhi have elaborate buffets on offer, along with 24 hour coffee shops, so if you feel like a bite late into the night, your best bet is a five star hotel. The buffets are usually a mix of Indian and continental cuisine, prepared by award winning chefs. A lunch or dinner buffet, excluding alcohol, will cost you between Rs.1000 ($20) to Rs.1500 ($30), per head.
