Frankfurt's culture and arts scene offers a diverse range of museums and galleries showcasing the city's love of art. Top museums include Deutsches Architekturmuseum (Architecture), Deutsches Filmmuseum (Film), Liebieghaus (sculpture), Museum for Angewandte Kunst (Decorative Arts), Museum for Modern Kunst (Museum of Modern Art) and St delsches Kunstinstitut und St dtische Galerie which is a noted fine art museum showcasing master works from the 14th to 20th century. Theatre lovers will be delighted by Frankfurt's theatre line up. Advertised as the “worst theatre in the world” Die Schmiere is the place to go for experimental works. The English Theatre offers a variety of shows in English, including dramas, comedies and musicals. Internationales Theater offers a good variety of shows including everything from Shakespeare to African music. The Schauspielhaus is the new opera building in the city centre, near the Main river. The world-renowned Frankfurt Ballet performs here as well. The much loved Alte Opera also calls Frankfurt it's home; though the opera has moved to Schauspielhaus, visit for regular symphony concerts. Most of the culture and arts in Frankfurt are found on the Schaumainkai on the Main River in the heart of the city.
