From October to May

Goa is typically famous for its seafood, Goan cooking generally involves liberal amounts of spices giving the dish a distinctive aroma. The most commonly used include cumin, coriander, chillies, garlic and turmeric. Another local ingredient used to flavour fish curries is kokum. Goan cuisine doesn’t naturally cater for the vegetarian, although vegetarian food is in large supply in Goa. All food is widely available in Goa, catering for all tastes.
The famous Goan tipple is Feni, double distilled, perfectly clear and fearfully potent, this is a drink which deserves and claims respect. There is coconut and cashew feni, both of which are made with local ingredients. The Goan’s are also prone to love the dark rum, coming in the form of Old Monk rum.
