The Hellenic Festival

The Hellenic Festival presents modern an ancient theatre at the Herodes Atticus Theatre in Athens from June to September. The Epidaurus Festival is the most popular theatre festival of Greece, showcasing classical drama. The festival is held during the months of July and August in different venues in Athens. The International Festival of Patra takes place from July to September and presents drama and theatre.

The annual Open Theatre Festival is organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki. Various companies present ancient drama, European theatre and contemporary Greek plays over the summer in the outdoor Garden Theatre from June to September. The Renaissance Festival is held in Rethymnon on the island of Crete from July to September.
