From March to October

The Greek Islands offer a huge variety of beaches. From beautiful sandy beaches with crystal blue waters, white pebbled beaches and beaches lined with forest and pine trees all the way down. For a small fee, private beaches are accessible and offer changing facilities, showers and toilets, as well as snack bars and café’s. Other private beaches on the Greek Islands may operate pool slides as well as other fun activities, keeping both adults and children occupied. Lovers of the beach and sea will be able to find their own unique beach including many unexplored private hamlets. To narrow down the top beaches of the Greek Islands would be almost impossible, as the choice is endless. Whether it is a beach for the family you are looking for, or a quieter more secluded beach the choices are endless.

The beaches on Mykonos on the southern coast are protected from the wind and very sandy, which makes them popular in the summer, which could mean they will be overcrowded. They are renowned as being the party beaches of the Greek Islands. On the northern coast, beaches are less organized, there is no bus service you would need a private car, this explains why they are quieter. For the nudist, Crete offers a naturism beach, with full privacy. Skiathos Island is rare in that it is covered with pine trees. Skiathos Islands have lighter sand, bluer water and offer an array of water sports, taverns and bars. Red beach is one of the more famous and beautiful beaches of Santorini. Accessibility is by car and many people just admire the red beach from the headland, taking in the slabs of red and black volcanic rock behind it and the reddish black sand. It also makes for good snorkeling because of the interesting rock. With so much to offer it’s no wonder the Greek Islands are such a popular choice for beach holidays.
