Surfing in Guatemala

Monterrico on Guatemala's Pacific coast is the only recognised surfing location in the country that has consistent off shore surf. Although the Pacific coastline of Guatemala is rarely crowded, and there is good surf at all stages of the tide, the off-shore currents (rips) make it a fairly hazardous place to go surfing.
