As a city with great natural resources and large bodies of water, it comes as no surprise that finding places to canoe and kayak are easy whilst visiting Helsinki. The Canoe Rent Centre is one company in Helsinki offering a range of canoe rentals and rental periods ranging from one hour to a week. They also organise canoe trips. There’s also the Helsinki Canoeing Centre, which rents canoes and kayaks and also organizes guided trips around Helsinki’s coast. You can also rent canoes in summer from the centre of town – right next to the Sibelius Monument. Canoeing and kayaking are very popular in Helsinki and surrounds so you should have no problems getting hold of all the necessary equipment, particularly in the summer months.
