Seeing Helsinki from a hot-air balloon is an unforgettable experience. There are a few companies offering the experience, which doesn’t come cheap, but offers a unique perspective on Helsinki’s scenery, with a glass of champagne always included. Companies such as Aerohot and Linnan Pallo offer flights between April/May time and October when the weather is finest. Flights usually begin before dawn or around sunset and take approximately an hour, although you’ll need to allow about four hours for the experience including safety briefings and champagne.
