It was not long ago that mountain biking was prohibited in Hong Kong's country parks, however there a few good trails now available to the public. The HK Mountain Biking Association has maps and details of the trails. Most mountain biking trails in Hong Kong are single track and rather rocky. The best areas to ride are in Sai Kung and Tai Lam Chung Country Park. In both parks you will enjoy stunning scenery: forest, mountains and ocean. For beginners Hoi Ha village is a good place and for more advanced riders head to Wan Tsai and Lamma Island. Note that you need a permit to mountain bike in Hong Kong.
