Culture and Arts in Ibiza, Spain

There are a myriad of fascinating places of enlightenment and culture on Ibiza, not forgetting the magnificent cathedral and the Museum of Contemporary art which houses some real masterpieces. The island is also famed for The Medieval Festival, which takes place in the second weekend of May, in Dalt Vila, which evolves into a medieval market with peddlers, noblemen, fire blowers, street shows, snake charmers and minstrels. This festival is arranged by Ibiza Council and is there to commemorate the Dalt Vila World Heritage Site. It's a loud marching band event, celebrating the settlement of Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs who have all reigned here. Many artists, musicians and famous people have homes here, having recognised the amazing aura of artistry and expressionism.
