Lomban Festival

The Lomban festival is held by the local fisherman to show their gratitude to the seas for the fish it provides and is one of the oldest traditions of the Indonesian archipelago. The fisherman give offerings to the sea of fruit, flowers and buffalo heads as pray for good fortune in the coming year. The festival is vibrant and some of the highlights include boat races and a mock war between the fisherman and pseudo pirates.
