Surfing in Indonesia

With exotic beaches and awesome breaks in the oceans, the Indonesian archipelago is regarded as one of the best places in the world to surf. There are literally thousands of islands fully equipped for surfers in both the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. The wild waters around Java, Sumatra and Timor are perfect for surfing, so too is Bali though the beaches are often more crowded. Not every island in the Indonesian archipelago is ideal for surfing however. For example Borneo, Irian Jaya and Sonde offer little or no prospect of surfing, but there are more islands than not where you will find conditions are perfect for a surfing holiday.
