Hamamatsu Matsuri ' Kite Flying Festival

Amazing Kites of all different shapes and sizes are flown over this three-day festival. Participant enter into battles with their huge kites trying to skilfully cuts the strings of their opponents kites. Many kites are large spanning 3 to 5 metres in width and beautifully designed. Over 150 teams take part in the event, many of them spending a good part of the year designing and building their kites.
