Tokyo International Film Festival

Held in Tokyo since 1985 this annual film festival is one of the biggest film festivals in Asia. Over nine days, world premières of film by Japan's best directors and film makers are screened along with highly regarded films from around the globe. As one of only two FIAPF accredited film festivals in Asia (the other being in Shanghai), the Tokyo International Film Festival has becomes an important part of Japan's film industry. The aim of the festival organiser is to become one of the top four film festivals in the world, alongside the likes of Cannes, Venice and Berlin.
