Geography of Jersey

The geography of Jersey is best described as an island with rolling countryside, sandy beaches and rugged cliffs. The terrain is generally low lying on the south coast with some rocky areas but as you move northwards it gradually changes to rugged cliffs. There are sand dunes on the west coast with small valleys running from north to south of the island. At low tide and on the south east side, the geography changes mainly due to the tidal variation that has exposed large expanses of sand and rock.
