The food in Kuala Lumpur is an eclectic representation of the different culture in the city. Visitors to Kuala Lumpur can choose from a wide range of Chinese, Malay, and Indian cooking. There is also an impressive spread of international dishes like Italian, Mexican, Japanese and French cuisine in the city. Dining out in Kuala Lumpur is inexpensive and can be a cultural experience.
Whilst there are many fine dining restaurants serving local cuisine, perhaps one of the best ways to try local food is to dine in local eateries commonly known as hawker centres. These food centres can be found on every corner of the city. Most notable hawker centres have a large concentration of food stalls selling all types of Malaysian food are located in Chinatown and Jalan Alor part of the Golden Triangle. Mingle amongst the locals as you watch the food you have ordered being prepared right before your eyes.
