Kuala Lumpur is the Capital of Malaysia. As the largest city in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur which means “muddy estuary” got the name for its location between the confluence of the Klang and Gombak River. Kuala Lumpur is an enclave within the state of Selangor, on the central west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur covers a land area of about 243 sq km and it is perched at an elevation of 21.95m above sea level. The Titiwangsa Mountains surround Kuala Lumpur in the east, some ranges in the north and south. Kuala Lumpur is about 64 miles (40km) from the coast.
