Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is celebrated throughout Lanzarote, but the best place to join in is the capital Arrecife. On the Saturday, locals make alfombras de sal (sea salt carpets) in colourful designs along the roads around San Ginés Church. On fiesta day (Thursday), people head to the Church of San Ginés for a Mass honouring the Eucharist.
