Hiking / Walking in Lanzarote, Canary Islands

There are an abundance of places where you can enjoy a walking holiday on Lanzarote. Crossing the villages of Los Valles, you can gaze out at the striking village of Haria, known as ‘the valley of 10,000 palm trees’ which is a mesmerising place that adds contrast to the unusual by dry landscape of the rest of the island. After walking through the streets and squares, you can continue walking on towards Guinate, where you can visit the small zoo, Loro Parque. Although the countryside and terrain is pretty dramatic in Lanzarote there are many different routes to take and some arranged walks by various local tour operators, which let you see the true and sometimes hidden beauty of this island. If you do opt for a walking holiday on Lanzarote do ensure that you wear decent footwear though – such as trainers.
