Wine Tasting in Lanzarote, Canary Islands

The Wine Museum of Lanzarote is located at the old cellars of the El Grifo wineries, which were built around 1775 over the volcanic lava left behind from the 18th century eruption. The present owner's family acquired the property and cellars in 1880 and is the oldest winery in the Canaries. It is open to the public every day of the year from 10.30 – 18.00 and the entrance fee is 3 euros per adult which includes a free wine tasting. You can also make a welcome visit La Geria – a vital and thriving vine growing area in Lanzarote. Here you can sample some of the wonderfully flavoured local wines during a tasting session in a traditional wine cellar.
