Timanfaya National Park
The Montañas del Fuego came about between 1730 and 1736, when more than 100 volcanoes devastated this part of the island. The last eruptions were in 1824, but due to the low rainfall this area appears much the same as it did just after the volcanoes hit. In the late 60s the area was declared a national park and while it is not possible to just stroll freely around the volcanoes, a coach trip is included in the entry fee of 8 euros.
Los Verdes Cave
It's hard not to be blown away by the magnificent Los Verdes lava cave in the north of the island. Part of a network of underground galleries stretching between the La Corona volcano and the sea, this 2km cave can be visited on guided walks in English, which run every half hour from 10am-5.30pm and cost 8 euros.
James Del Agua
James Del Agua was once an underground lava bubble which was converted into a theatre and auditorium. 100m long and 30m in width, it is roofless and has a swimming pool and lovely garden, along with a bar and a unique dancefloor made out of volcanic rocks.
