Cyprus is surrounded by The Troodos Mountains, which stretches over most of the southern and western areas of the island, and the Kyrenia Range is evident in the northern sector of the mainland. The highest peak in Cyprus is the infamous Mount Olympus. Most of the island is flat and treeless, and is known as the Mesaoria plain.
