Hiking in Las Vegas is best done at either Red Rock Conservation area about 20 minutes west of Las Vegas or at the Springs Preserve about 10 minutes from The Strip. Hiking trails are abundant at each location and visitor centres accommodate hiker’s needs with trail maps and information brochures. If taking your hiking holiday during the summer months be sure to wear a hat and sunglasses, use plenty of sunscreen lotion and drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. Las Vegas is in the desert so becoming dehydrated happens very quickly. Better yet, why not pack a picnic lunch – a perfect way to end an arduous hike through rugged desert terrain!
