Montenegro’s culture lives and breathes in its many historical towns. Culture and arts festivals are quite frequent in Montenegro, especially on the coast during the summer months. Those interested in museums and cultural history on their holiday should visit Montenegro’s historical capital of Cetinje, for its many museums and historical sights. Podgorica, the largest city and modern capital is also home to several mu-seums, the old Turkish area Stara Varoš and nearby ancient Roman ruins. Of course no cultural holiday in Montenegro would be complete without visits to the old towns of Bar, Budva, Kotor and Herceg Novi.
