Sant’Antonio Abate bonfire festival takes place on the in towns and cities across Sardinia. Celebrating with traditional music, dancing and food, the bonfire is lit in honour of Sant’Antonjo Abate, who was thought to have brought fire to the earth which was covered in ice. The fires are blessed and kept alight until the following night.
