Easter week is celebrated all across Sardinia but one of the poignant festivals is the Via Crucis in Alghero. Re-enactments of Christ’s passion and last tragic hours take place in a parade throughout the cobbled streets of Alghero and red muslim covers streets lights to create a dramatic ambience. ‘Raising of the Cross’ parades take part in most towns and cities on this day.
