Hotels in Geneva are vast and scattered throughout the city from the Old Town to the lakefront. Prices are often per room and not per person. If you are visiting the city on business, a special occasion, or you are just looking to indulge in something a little more extravagant, a large number of five-star luxurious boutique-style hotels can be found along the Quai du Mont Blanc of the west side of the lakefront. There are no campsites in the city centre of Geneva but a short train or car ride out of the city will take you into the countryside where campsites can be found along the lakeside beaches and within nature reserves. Camping is a great way to enjoy the nature and scenic side of Geneva without the traffic, noise or city bustle. The campsites have great facilities including swimming pools, bike hire, restaurants, and shops, and are about ten minutes away from the city centre. Prices vary but range from about CHF 15 per person per night. There is often a charge for dogs.
