Beirut: Mountain Climbing
Paris of the Middle East
There are great opportunities for Mountain Climbing outside of Beirut in Northern Lebanon, which is a hugely popular area for mountain climbing, skiing, caving and hiking. Northern Lebanon is where you’ll find the Mount Lebanon Range, which has the country’s highest mountain – Qurnat es-Sawda - standing at 3,090m. The region has a rugged terrain that makes it perfect for outdoor adventure seekers, and many mountain climbers first arrive in Beirut before setting off to explore the Northern region and enjoying the beautiful Lebanese scenery and great mountain climbing opportunities to be had.
