Beirut Geography

Geographically, Beirut is located on a small peninsula jutting into the East Mediterranean, in the middle of Lebanon’s coastline. The geography of Beirut’s coast is varied, made up of rocky shores, sandy beaches and cliffs sitting adjacent to each other. Inland, Beirut is geographically edged by the Lebanon Mountains, about 95km north of the border between Lebanon and Israel.
