Beirut Population

The population of Beirut numbers around 2.1 million people, although there is no official count, as a population census for Beirut (and Lebanon as a whole) hasn’t been taken since 1932. The population of Beirut is religiously diverse, with a significant Christian and Muslim presence. Within these, the major religious communities within the Beirut population include the Maronite Catholic, Greek Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Armenian Catholic, Protestant, Shiite Muslim, Sunni Muslim and Druze.
