Berlin: Food Guide - Dining Out
The Capital Of Germany
Berlin is full of wonderful and exciting places to eat out, with a wide choice of every kind of food imaginable. Restaurants can range from nouvelle, food served in glamorous, sophisticated and expensive restaurants, to hearty local dishes served in atmospheric and inexpensive inns. Traditional dishes are knuckle of pork (Eisbein), brisket of beef (Rinderbrust) and roast goose (Gänsebraten) combined with vegetables like sauerkraut, kale and dumplings. Berlin is famous for its potato-salad, fried or raw hash, black pudding and Latke (Kartoffelpuffer). Although meat dishes are very popular in Berlin, there is always a good selection of vegetarian dishes available.
