Bermuda: Disabled Needs
Heaven on Earth
Bermuda does try to accommodate disabled visitors to the island. However it is an old British colony, sometimes with narrow cobbled streets, so a holiday in Bermuda for the disabled may be a challenge. Hamilton does have some ramped pavements, but older villages are harder for wheelchair users to navigate. You can’t rent cars in Bermuda, so you will need to rely on taxis, which can get expensive. Shops are not required to be wheelchair accessible so you may find them difficult to enter. Access to the beaches may also be problematic. On the plus side, the airport and several of the hotels have some of the best disabled facilities in Bermuda.
