Brazil Population

The population is concentrated in the south-eastern states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Brazil’s 192 million population is made up of many racial and ethnic groups. The last National Research for Sample of Domiciles (PNAD) census revealed the following: 49.4% of the population are White, about 93 million; 42.3% are Pardo (brown), about 80 million; 7.4% are Black, about 13 million; 0.5% are Asian, about 1 million; and 0.4% are Amerindian, about 519,000.
