Cairo: Sightseeing

Mother Of All Cities

Cairo Sightseeing

If you enjoy sight seeing whilst on holiday there are few more fascinating places than Cairo. Egypt is one of the most researched and talked about of civilisations and much of their ways of life, methods and culture remains a mystery, even more so that some of the ancient sights are still in existence today and are major tourist attractions. The ancient Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza are the sole survivor of the seven wonders of the ancient world, whilst the ancient city of Memphis is the oldest city in the world. There are also a number of interesting museums in Cairo documenting the illustrious history of Egypt and its people, together with old churches and mosques. Old Cairo and the city of the dead are also extraordinary places to visit during your stay in Cairo or you may want to explore further a field and take a trip out to the Valley of the Kings or the ancient city of Thebes. Though there may be many things that remain uncertain about Cairo and the ancient Egyptians, one thing that is for certain is that visitors to Cairo and the land of the Pharaoh's are not short of things to see and do.
