Copenhagen: Hiking - Walking
The Paris of the North
Copenhagen is a pedestrian friendly city and walking is one of the best ways to get around Copenhagen (from a sight-seeing point of view). Bring a street map to plan your itinerary or simply wander around the harbour and historic area. You can always feel comfortable asking someone for directions as Danes are known for being helpful and friendly. Staff members of the Copenhagen Tourist Information Office also conduct 2-hour guided walking tours of the city every Monday and Friday to Sunday at 10 am, between May and September. The price is *10 for adults, free for children under 10. For hiking near the city-centre try the Frederiksdal an area about 15 km northwest of Copenhagen. Home to beautiful lakes, forests and a museum the trail offers a wonderful day of hiking in Copenhagen. Be sure to wear good walking shoes, bring sunscreen and a hat and water bottles.
