Copenhagen: When to go
The Paris of the North
Copenhagen’s peak tourist season is May-September. During the off season tourist sites operate with reduced hours or close completely, such as some of the outdoor attractions of the Tivoli Gardens. The height of the summer season is during July and August, which brings the most crowds. Accommodation in Copenhagen is also more expensive during this time. The best time to go is either in May or June or at the end of August after the crowds have lessened. Christmas can also be a nice time to visit as the city holds celebrations and is lit up by fairy lights and outdoor sports such as ice-skating become available.
